WILDERNESS COOKERY

The wilderness cookery weekend is a hands on cooking experience, concentrating on foods that can either be carried into or gathered in a wilderness area. Prepared hygienically and cooked by many methods to present a good hearty meal to sit back and enjoy.  

 

On the course you will cover :
  • Creating a wilderness kitchen
  • Camp Kitchen Hygiene
  • Cooking over open fires
  • Roasting, Baking and steaming
  • Cooking with no utensils
  • Wild Game Preparation
  • One pot cooking
  • Starters, main courses, desserts, breads and buscuits.
 

To gain full appreciation and experience real camping, all students are asked to camp with the Tamarack team.

All food and cooking implements are provided on the course.

Minimum age for attendance is 8 years
