                               ORIGINS WEEKEND

This weekend course will give you an introduction into the world of Bushcraft and outdoor living skills.  The course is designed so you will be able to set up a tented wild camp, start a fire and prepare a meal for a short term or overnight stay whilst on the trail. On the course we will cover:

  • Safe use of cutting tools
  • Camp orientation, organisation and hygiene
  • Fire lighting, lays and safety
  • Firewood selection, collection and storage
  • Cooking over an open fire
  • Campcraft exercises
  • Wood Carving
  • Water Collection & Purification
  • Wild game preparation
  • Trapping techniques

To gain full appreciation and experience real camping, all students are asked to camp with the Tamarack team.

Cutting implements will be provided while on the course.

Food is provided for the evening meals but breakfast and lunch is on a self catering basis.

Minimum age for attendance is 18 years old
