  THE ART OF FIRE

To master the art of fire making is a skill unto itself. To gather the materials needed from the outdoors and nurture into a flame in any weather is a satisfying skill to master. On this course we will cover:

  • Safe use of cutting tools
  • Collection, preparation and storage of tinders
  • Creating the contents of a tinder box
  • Firewood selection, collection and storage
  • Fire lighting
  • Fire By Friction
  • Fire lays and safety
  • Carrying fire



To gain full appreciation and experience real camping, all students are asked to camp  with the Tamarack team.

All food will be provided while on the course. Also included is a Mora training knife  as well as taking away your tinder box.

Minimum age for attendance is 18 years old
